What led you to education?

Yes, my upbringing absolutely shaped my calling. I was raised in a home where faith, education, and service were the cornerstones of our lives. My parents emphasized learning as a path to empowerment and impact. That early foundation planted the desire in me to not only pursue education myself but to become a vessel of knowledge, guidance, and encouragement for others, especially children who may not always see what’s possible for their future.

You have a successful home-based childcare center. Tell us about your passion for education and children.

My childcare center is rooted in love, learning, and leadership. We provide a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Our approach focuses on early literacy, emotional intelligence, creativity, and foundational life skills. It’s not just about preparing them for school. It’s about preparing them for life. I’m passionate about helping children explore their gifts early, because when we build confidence in the early years, we build changemakers for the future.

What do you enjoy the most about working with children?

I love watching them discover their voices and realize that their ideas matter. Children are naturally curious, imaginative, and bold when given the right encouragement. I find joy in helping them channel that energy into confidence and purpose. When a child begins to say, “I can do this,” that’s a win; not just for them, but for the community as a whole.

You are deeply invested in shaping the next generation of leaders and driving community advancement. Share the organizations and initiatives that you support.

My focus has always been on empowerment through education and entrepreneurship. In addition to my work in early childhood education, I support local programs focused on youth leadership, financial literacy, and career readiness. Through the Journey to Pathville movement, I’ve launched an initiative to help 500 young people start their own businesses. Whether it’s through workshops, mentoring, or community partnerships, I’m dedicated to equipping young minds with the mindset and tools to dream big and build boldly.

Tell us about your new book.

My book Journey to Pathville: Dream Big! launched this fall and is available on Amazon and through www.journeytopathville.com. It’s more than a children’s book along with the 5 Step Guided Start Your Business Journal. It’s a mission-driven tool designed to spark imagination and ignite purpose. The story follows a young girl named Emma as she steps into new possibilities and discovers her potential. It’s part of a larger effort to inspire and guide youth toward self-belief, leadership, and ultimately entrepreneurship.

What is your mission?

My mission is bold and clear: to help 500 young people launch their own businesses. I believe entrepreneurship builds confidence, independence, and community impact. Through education, storytelling, and mentorship, I aim to plant the seeds of possibility in young minds to show them that they can create, lead, and make a difference. Journey to Pathville is just the beginning. I encourage anyone with young people in their lives that want to help build a business or have a desire to see the next generation build a business for their future to join me. SIgn up for my email list that will have updates on how to help. I am committed to empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs, one journey at a time.
