“Authors to Watch” Meet Courtney Lynn Corbin “The Blossoms of Blue Dreams,” a Book About Second Chances
My name is Courtney Lynn,
I am a single mother of two beautiful children and work full-time. Writing has been my outlet, allowing me to escape from the real world and jump into my imagination. My journey as a writer began in 2024, with the intention this journey would not go beyond writing material in my journal. After hearing devastating news, I sat on my porch admiring the stars, grieving the loss of my grandfather. Only a few short months later, I came to find my grandmother had been diagnosed with an aggressive cancer similar to the sickness that guided my grandfather to his afterlife. Finding writing to be therapeutic,I began to write, not only for myself but for my grandmother, in the hopes I could help guide her towards a hopeful future. I put my grandmother’s shoes on each of my feet, placing myself inside the life she now had been forced to fight for. I created a world of imagination, a world that would help my grandmother and anyone having had the same terrifying news, find something that would not only be relatable but inspiring. I chose to create a magical place for those who had trouble finding faith and hope in any hardship, a novel that could help guide the way of appreciating everything, living for the moment, and fighting for the future.
How has writing been your outlet?
Writing has been therapeutic for me, granting me the opportunity to create a barrier between the real world and the growth of my imagination. I create a world of fantasy with unlimited possibilities; I am the creator of my fairy tale. I began writing as an outlet for my emotions, wanting the pages to feel every sensory feeling that I was processing mentally.

“Imagination refuses to grow unless you expand your mind’s capacity by altering the meaning of impossible.” Explain
By lifting the boundaries created from fear, we can infinitely blossom. Eliminating the impossible will expand the growth of your imagination by replacing the constrained thought process with something powerful. This causes the mind to redirect toward a positive perception, influencing your inner self. The reward being self-belief, self-power, and self-assurance; the action of demolishing any uncertainties that threaten achievements. Everyone is capable of pursuing anything in life, but it starts with positive motivation.
With imagination desires prosper, dreams develop, and the mind expands senses. What is life without the strength of love, hope, faith, dreams, and desires.
What dreams did you leave behind in your youth?
I am currently pursuing my dream, voicing my creativity with every word, each letter screams affirmation, empowerment, and encouragement, with an emotional twist. We are humans that retain an abundance of emotions that can infect the cognitive mind. Shifting your view can positively affect your life, allowing you to embrace situations rather than harboring the fear of being misunderstood. I personally have struggled to find purpose in life, even knowing my desire was to make a difference somehow. I long to live a life where motivating a stranger is not so uncommon, but natural. Sharing a version of experiences that are sacred to me and altering them in a positive, creative form in the image of an impactful novel is my personal vocation.
Your new book, The Blossoms of Blue Dreams is thought-provoking and imaginative. Take us through your book.
My book, The Blossoms of Blue Dreams, is not the average fairy tale. Instead, it focuses on the growth of the mental state to spiritually transform. Exposing light to the journey in rediscovering the drive to continue even through the voice of discouragement and suffering. Though my novel travels through different sensory experiences in Lydia’s emotional journey, such as romance, it shifts focus on a higher purpose. A magical tale reflecting on the rocky relationship Lydia has with life and how to overcome obstacles when fear takes precedence.

What are some of the philosophical questions posed?
Fear, in challenging situations can be deadly, often guiding the mind to hopelessness and self-doubt. Lydia struggles finding purpose, with the idea that life’s cruelty led her to face death alone. The internal questions act as poison tainting the very idea that life was worth
the brutal fight yet to come. A shift in perspective can awaken the creative mind, manipulating fear into something magical. This thought process resonates with Lydia as she discovers the courage to live again.
Before you can soar…finish the sentence.
“Before you can soar, you must release the bonds that restrict the conscious mind from expanding.” –Courtney Lynn

What is your mission for your book?
Cancer knocked on my grandmother’s door shortly after guiding my grandfather to the gates of heaven. Hearing this news forced my own battles pertaining to my perception on life. Fearful my grandmother, Lin, would give in to self-doubt, I began to write a book of inspiration with a character based on my grandmother. A physiological journey of entertainment, with pieces that would emotionally harmonize on a deeper level.
Advocating for emotional depth, I found my purpose and hope to carry that purpose to my readers. My imaginative mind has granted me the gift to produce something purposeful through my writing that can potentially resonate with a diverse community. Whether you are battling an illness or suffering from hardships in life causing feelings of apprehension,
isolation, regret, or pain, I hope you find my novel as an inspirational piece aiding in the beginning stage of your journey to self-recovery.
The Blossoms of Blue Dreams is only the start of my self-discovering journey.
