We are in Mental Health Month. Share your journey to be a renowned-Soul Empowerment Coach.

Mental Health Month invites us to reflect on the invisible battles many fight in silence. For years, I lived such a battle—one that no one could see from the outside, yet one that shaped every breath I took. My journey to becoming a Soul Empowerment Coach began not in a classroom or some random certification program, but in the depths of my own suffering, where I eventually discovered that the very pain I had endured would become my greatest teacher.

I found myself wading through the murky depths of my own trauma, at times feeling suffocated by the weight of the experiences that included childhood abuse, the loss of my father at fourteen, relentless bullying, and a cascade of toxic relationships that left me questioning my worth. I was hanging onto pain as though my life depended on it. We may feel uncomfortable, and yet we often decide to remain in the comfort of that discomfort, because we don’t know any other way. One bit of trauma seemed to create another, and like many women, I suffered in silence from vaginismus for years, having no clue what was truly wrong with me. But I realised I had to take responsibility for my own life, put on my superhero cape and fight my own demon to rediscover the love and light within myself—because the tragedy of life, as Norman Cousins wisely said, “is not death, but what we let die inside of us while we live.”

This was not an easy realization, but it was the first step toward reclaiming my power. I discovered that I mattered—that I was inherently worthy of love, happiness, and fulfilment. I was done being a welcome doormat and people pleaser. Life, I came to understand, is not meant to be a constant struggle. It is an experiment for us to experience, and when we release our grip on outdated beliefs and painful patterns, it allows us to breathe and we discover just how infinitely easy things can become.

My healing journey led me to study numerous holistic modalities, each one teaching me something profound about the human spirit. I learned that trauma does not have to define us; it can refine us. I transformed my pain into purpose, and in doing so, I became a more authentic version of myself. I stopped seeking love from others as a way to fill the void within and instead learned to love myself wholesomely first. This internal shift changed everything.

As I continue to evolve, heal, and expand my consciousness, I am acutely aware that I am not the same person I was yesterday, and I embrace the endless possibilities that lie ahead. My mission is simply to help people align their inner spiritual essence with their outer life, empowering them to deal with life’s traumas and live according to the resonance of their own spirit, rather than the hollow expectations of a society that constantly bombards our senses with noise and prevents us from realising our true potential. Because I matter, and so do you.

“One bit of ‘trauma’ creates another bit of trauma.” Explain

There is a quiet truth I learned in the darkness of my own healing journey: one bit of trauma, left unhealed, quietly creates another bit of trauma. It compounds like interest on an unpaid debt, building walls around our spirit that we eventually mistake for being a part of ourselves.

I learned this the hard way—our energy stays toxic unless we do the work, plain and simple. The truth is those stuck e-motions will cause dis-ease within our mental or physical essence, seeping out in some way, form, shape, or another, whether we like it or not. Then we sit there, wondering why our bodies or minds feel so out of whack, when honestly, we’ve been carrying around emotional baggage we never took the time to unpack. Lest we forget, we are mental in nature and our experiences are shaped by our consciousness—which means that most of our struggles, and problems exist within the mind rather than as actual external realities, with the body simply acting as an instrument of the mind, faithfully echoing whatever we’ve got going on upstairs. If we can learn to feel our feelings fully, to release what’s been trapped inside us, and to tend to the garden of our consciousness with intention and care, we begin to free ourselves from a lifetime of unnecessary suffering and step into a more wholesome radiant version of ourselves.

For the longest time, I kept trying to fix everyone around me, thinking that if I could just help these broken birds find their way, somehow that would fill the holes in my own broken spirit. But what I didn’t realize was that by pouring myself into saving others, I was draining the very wellspring I needed to heal myself, and honestly, I stumped their growth as much as I stumped my own growth. Each relationship became a mirror of my unhealed parts, reflected back at me in ways I was not ready to see.

Letting people walk their own path was perhaps the hardest thing I have ever done. It felt like abandonment. It felt like failure. But in releasing my grip on others’ journeys, I finally had room to look at my own. I discovered that the only person who could save me was me. It shifted something fundamental in my consciousness, waking me up to the truth that the greatest healer resides within each and every one of us. External healers are just a tool in the toolbox—they help unlock your own potential for self-healing by acting as a conduit for the stuck energy you’ve been carrying around. Everything in our body is connected, from the subatomic level to our cells and tissues, and each component holds the power to shift energetic particles, letting us tap into that inner healing ability and begin transforming ourselves. That realisation lit a spark inside me that still fuels my journey today, and honestly? Once you understand that you’re both your greatest dis-ease and your most powerful healer, there’s no going back to pretending someone else can do the work for you.

Stop running, stop shunning.

Start feeling, start healing.

Why are clients coming to you?

People come to me because they’re exhausted—exhausted from wearing masks, from pretending everything is fine while drowning beneath the surface of unresolved trauma and unmet expectations. They’re stuck in their own personal Groundhog Day of pain and suffering that keeps them paralysed, and they’re finally ready to stop numbing the discomfort and actually do something about it.

Here’s what I tell them from the very first conversation: healing isn’t about erasing the past. It’s about alchemizing it. Your wounds aren’t your destruction—they’re your transformation waiting to happen.

I’ve built my practice around a simple truth that most people aren’t ready to hear: you cannot outsource your self-worth. Not to your partner, not to your therapist, and certainly not to social media likes. So many of us walk around emotionally dependent, begging for scraps of validation from anyone who’ll give it. We tell ourselves: If they just loved me more, I’d be whole. If someone would finally see me, I’d be enough.

But that’s a lie we tell ourselves to avoid the harder work.

As an example, I once had a query from someone who swore they loved themselves completely, yet wondered why they kept attracting the wrong kind of partners. No matter how gently I tried to show them the truth, they held so tightly to their story that I couldn’t reach them—I truly hope she found someone who could help her release that deep-seated pain.

My expertise lies in guiding clients through the alchemical process of transformation, where trauma isn’t erased but rather transformed into profound personal growth. I combine Light Language Frequency healing—a high-vibrational modality that bypasses the ego’s defenses and reaches the subconscious root of stored pain. This work is spiritual, yes, but it’s also deeply mental in nature. Awareness is the key to opening up the gateway. Not the kind of reflection where you replay your pain like a broken record, as that keeps you trapped. I’m talking about solution-focused reflection. The kind that asks: What is this pain trying to teach me? Where have I given away my power? How have I contributed to my own suffering?

Because yes, we participate in our own suffering. Until we acknowledge that, we remain prisoners in our own lives.

I’m not some fairy godmother waving a magic wand. This isn’t about spiritual bypassing or chasing positive vibes until the darkness disappears; it’s about sitting with your wounds, acknowledging them honestly, and doing the integration work that creates lasting change. The clients who thrive are the ones who understand that healing is their responsibility alone—no partner, therapist, or magical solution will rescue them, and that release is exactly where the real power begins.

Healing means taking responsibility—not just for your trauma, but for your awakening. It’s realizing: You are not a victim of your past. You are a creator of your future.

True healing isn’t some fancy destination. It’s a full-blown revolution to the evolution of your own soul.

Like En Vogue sang, “Free your mind, and the rest will follow….,” because when you transform your thinking, your entire life begins to shift in ways you never imagined possible.

I often get asked what my books are really about, and honestly? They’re about that messy, beautiful moment when life finally cracks you open and you realize you’ve been the one holding yourself back all along. My book “Child of the Sun” came from a season when I traded the corporate for the soft glow of an Indian ashram, and let me tell you, that wasn’t some glamorous wellness retreat—it was a full nervous system reboot where I learned that something as simple as breathing could scrub away years of heavy baggage I’d been carrying around like deadweight accessories I never asked for. Through breathwork, meditation, and some surprising conversations with Divine Masters like Krishna and Ganesh, I discovered that fear is just that pesky roommate in our minds who refuses to pay rent, while love is the superpower we all have buried somewhere beneath our to-do lists and anxiety. The biggest takeaway? We’re not just passive passengers on this wild ride called life— we’re the creators creating our very own experiences! And whether it’s through kintsukuroi-ing our broken pieces back together or learning to live from the heart instead of our overthinking heads, the universe is basically waiting for us to stop running so it can finally dance with us.

This book is not about becoming someone else. It is about returning to who you have always been beneath the layers of fear, conditioning, and self-doubt. Love is and has always been our divine essence. The spiritual practices I explore—breathwork, meditation, chanting—are not exclusive to any tradition. They are universal tools, ancient and ever-new, waiting for anyone ready to use them.

The book also invites readers to explore deeper dimensions of existence—past lives, karma, Ayurveda—not as abstract concepts but as living frameworks that explain why we are who we are and how we are deeply connected to every living thing.

Throughout all my writing, a few truths keep echoing: life is not happening to us—it is happening through us. We are not victims of circumstance but co-creators of our reality, shaping our experience through every thought, every emotion, every choice we make.

The transition from living in the mind, where fear and judgment reign, to living from the heart, where love and intuition flow naturally, is the journey of a lifetime. Whatever your path looks like, honor it. Trust what resonates with your spirit. And know that the light you are seeking has been burning inside you all along.

“You are and have always been a child of the sun gracing your presence on this earthly plane through the art of creating your experiences, rinsing away the conditioning and healing the unhealed, to live oh so gloriously in the radiance of your own light, and in the essence of your loving I AM Power.”

What are the lessons that you have learned?

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned on this wild ride called life is this: you absolutely must stay true to yourself, because no one else can live your life for you, and honestly, trying to be whoever the world wants you to be is about as exhausting as trying to put socks on a cat—it just doesn’t work, and everyone’s frustrated in the end. Society and media love telling us we need to fit into their little manufactured box, but here’s the thing: that box is usually too small, too constricting, and honestly, kind of ugly when you think about it, so why would you want to squeeze your beautiful, weird, wonderful self into something so limiting? I’ve also realized I’m not on this planet to fix anyone or play the hero who saves everyone—nope, nope, nope—because each of us has our own messy, complicated, glorious journey of healing and growth, and it’s not my job to carry someone else’s baggage through their own checkpoint; I’m more like a friendly guide with a lantern, gently illuminating the path so they can find their own way forward.

And can we talk about how ridiculous it is that we get so caught up in dividing ourselves by nationality, skin color, or where we’re from, when underneath all that we’re just souls having a human experience, basically the same cosmic beings wearing different outfits? The real magic happens when you stop avoiding the hard stuff and actually walk through it—yes, even when you’re muddy, crying, and questioning everything—because that’s where the real growth hangs out, waiting for you on the other side.

I’ve learned that action speaks way louder than endless complaining; if you want to be a drama llama and vent about the worldly illusions being spoon-fed to you and all your problems while your actual inner bathroom looks like a biohazard zone, maybe prioritize scrubbing that toilet first, because you can’t pour from an empty bucket, and nobody benefits from emotional sewage seeping everywhere.

Every experience we go through, whether it lifts us up or breaks us down, serves a purpose bigger than we can see in the moment. These challenges aren’t meant to burden us; they’re gentle teachers showing us what our souls truly need to grow. When we stop poking at our wounds and start honoring them instead, they transform into sources of wisdom we never knew we carried. Each new day carries an invitation to wake up a little more, to see beyond the surface of things, and to recognize the miracle breathing within us all. I believe the words I share are seeds meant to find their way to hearts ready to receive them—and maybe, just maybe, they’ll grow into something beautiful inside you too. At the end of the day, life really is just a beautiful, messy journey back to love—for yourself, for others, for this crazy, wonderful world we get to inhabit—and if you ask me, the best part is that we’re all still learning, still growing, still becoming better versions of ourselves, which honestly feels like the most authentic purpose this soul could ever ask for.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

Hmmmm, quite a few things really.

If I asked you to describe me based on a first impression, you’d probably mention my Dutch directness or the way I speak my mind now—quite different from the terrified girl I once was.

Here’s something that stops people cold: under my left arm, I carry a birthmark in the exact shape of the Canadian maple leaf. I’m not Canadian by the way—my heritage are woven threads of Dutch and German from my father’s side, while my mother blessed me with Indian, Indonesian, a waffle of Belgian, and a dash a la moutarde of French roots.

As if that weren’t strange enough, I possess a tiny mole shaped like a heart positioned precisely on my heart chakra. I swear on every star in the night sky that I didn’t place it there myself.

My former landlord was Nasty Nick from the first ever Big Brother UK, and he is a lovely soul who now lives in Australia.

I speak in tongues—though not the kind you’d find in a traditional sanctuary. In my sleep, I channel light language, those cosmic frequencies that pulse through the universe. My father, who crossed over in 1988, used to say we are all receivers, tuning into different stations throughout our lives. I never thought I’d be fluent in gerbil-speak from the stars, but here we are. Thankfully, I’m too weird to care what anyone thinks about it anymore.

I used to be a scaredy two-shoes, convinced that speaking my truth would label me a loser in the world’s eyes. I fed my fear until it became comfortable, hiding in the safety of silence. But something shifted—I shifted. I stopped measuring my worth by others’ applause and started honoring the voice that had been whispering my whole life.

My father, who crossed over in 1988, taught me well before he left this realm. His lessons still echo through my daily rituals:

  • Start the day with a smile
  • Tell yourself that you love yourself
  • Your body is a temple, treat it as such
  • You are nature’s greatest miracle (which comes from Og Mandino’s book, “The Greatest Salesman in the World”)
  • Bless the needy in silence, and blessings will be brought upon them in some way, form, shape or another. I still do so till this day and send them an unemployed angel, sending quiet hope to those walking with heavy burdens.

I fed the homeless in St. Petersburg, Florida at a church downtown. We all came with homemade dishes. I listened to their stories, honored their humanity, and learned that vulnerability takes more courage than any mask we wear.

I find myself walking beneath the night sky most evenings, walking my dog as you do, neck arched upward, drinking in the celestial choreography above. The stars don’t care about my failures or my flaws—they simply shine. There’s a freedom in that cosmic indifference, a permission to simply be.

I can’t sing for the life of me, but I sing anyway.

I’ve built gardens from scratch with my bare hands, carrying and laying heavy tiles until my back screamed in protest.

I speak Dutch, German, and English fluently, fumble through biraz Türkçe, and am currently learning Spanish

I worked for Forbes Riley in St Pete many years ago; the undisputed Queen of Pitch, and the creator of Spingym, watching a trailblazer redefine what it means to pitch with purpose. She taught me that authentic power doesn’t shout—it resonates.

So yes, I’m a workaholic loner who talks to plants and dreams in frequencies most people will never hear. And I’m finally, beautifully, at peace with being exactly that. I guess you could say, I’ve learned that true awareness is found in the stillness.

Share your upcoming goals and projects.

I’m currently rewriting my first book Becoming Authentically Me, re-released at the end of this year. This isn’t just an edit; it’s an alchemical process of taking the raw material of my experiences and distilling it (like fine whiskey), into something that can serve as a beacon for others navigating their own awakening.

That conversation with the unseen forms the foundation of my next collaboration work, Evolving on Purpose: Angels, Spirit Guides & The Frequency of Miracles, coming later in 2026. This book is for those who’ve felt the comforting hand on their shoulder when no one was there, who’ve heard whispers in the stillness. My own awakening—guided by what I can only describe as Star Beings, Ascended Masters, and angelic guides—has taught me that our guides are always there for us cheering us on from the sidelines, and if we get stuck, all we need to do is ask for help because transformation is available to us all.

My third solo book is taking shape in the sacred space of the heart—a manual on the art of manifestation and healing. The central thesis? How to use everything, especially the trauma, not to become perfect but to become whole. Trauma doesn’t make you broken; it gives you the opportunity to look in the mirror, embrace yourself, and heal. From that courage, we build entirely new realities. Right now, that’s exactly what I’m building one word at a time, one article at a time, one project at a time.

I’m still writing articles, still appearing on podcasts, and still have one foot in the insanely busy corporate world of oil and gas whilst paving my yellow brick road to success, because let’s be real—we are all luminous stardust particles encapsulated into this organic earthly body suit experiencing life on Earth, we are much like fireflies, and if you want to achieve something, you have to not just envision it to manifest it, but feel it in your heart space as if you’ve already achieved it and create it in the quantum field of consciousness.

“The inner reflects the outer, so stop chasing the sun without, and start shining those beautiful rays from within, illuminating the world without.”
