Last year, Emily started a very exclusive private membership, which is a CEO circle.

The “Women Who Rock” has grown exponentially and they are about to launch in New York.

Every woman has a story. How did your upbringing give you strength and a beautiful sense of humanity?

I was born in Jersey City and grew up in New Jersey, surrounded by a rich tapestry of cultures and strong family values. My parents instilled in me the importance of resilience, compassion, and community. In my twenties, I moved to New York, where I gained exposure to fast-paced environments and learned to navigate high-pressure spaces with grace. Those early chapters of my life shaped my perspective and gave me the strength to overcome adversity. They helped me recognize the beauty in lifting others as we rise, which has become the foundation of everything I do.

As one of the first Hispanic women of Puerto Rican heritage to break into Wall Street, what was evident in the corporate culture?

Breaking into Wall Street as a Hispanic woman of Puerto Rican heritage was nothing short of groundbreaking, especially in an industry that at the time reflected very little diversity. The corporate culture was predominantly male and lacked representation. I often had to prove my worth twice over, first as a woman, and then as a Latina. But I turned those challenges into stepping stones. I rose to become a trainer of MBA executives at Goldman Sachs, specializing in presentation and sales skills. Every breakthrough felt like a victory not just for me, but for every woman who came after.

“Women supporting women is not just an idea but a way of life for me.” Explain.

It is the heartbeat of who I am. I have built my career around this principle. Whether it is mentoring, promoting, collaborating, or celebrating, I believe that when women support each other, the ripple effect is unstoppable. This philosophy gave birth to Miami Women Who Rock, a space originally created to spotlight extraordinary women in need. Over time, it has evolved to include individuals across the philanthropy and business landscape, fostering a broader community committed to impact, leadership, and legacy.

The 12th annual Fifty Shades of Pink honored Helen Shaham the CEO of The Palace, which is the number one senior living in the country. Helen received the Business Leader of the Year Award.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

People might be surprised to learn that I am actually quite the “Home Body” because I have such an active public life.  I have worked in front of cameras and spoken on stages, but I deeply value a quiet night at home.  Another surprising fact is that I have had a career that spans seven different industries, from finance to entertainment, and yet my favorite role of all has been being a mother to my son, Michael.

You created “Fifty Shades Of Pink” and support many causes related to health. Tell us what you are passionate about.

I am passionate about causes that promote healing, awareness, and hope. Fifty Shades of Pink was born out of a desire to celebrate women who have fought silent battles, especially those impacted by breast cancer. But my advocacy does not stop there. I am also deeply committed to mental health, women’s heart health, and wellness initiatives. Through Miami Women Who Rock, we raise awareness, provide support, and champion women-led health movements.

What is next?

I am working on a coffee table book of rockstar leaders that celebrates leadership legacy and will feature a variety of leaders from over 12 industries. Our presenting partner is Fyi Yachts and we will have a champagne and caviar yacht event to launch the book the first week of October.
