I grew up with a foot that didn’t quite fit the world’s mold. My hips were a loose-shod puzzle, and I learned to walk like a penguin—awkward, waddling, unmistakable. In school corridors the nickname “Penguin” stuck, and the extra splash of ginger hair and a scrawny frame gave the other kids endless fodder for whispers and laughter. I was a walking contradiction: invisible enough to be ignored, yet bright enough to be a target.
That early isolation taught me the first, most brutal lesson of all: the world will not always see you for who you are. It was an experience, a lesson, that I would carry in my bones for years, an echo that followed me from the playground to the bedroom, from family gatherings to the empty rooms of my own mind.
Even before I could spell “spirit” correctly, I was already hearing its soft footfalls. A flicker of movement in the corner of my eye, a sudden chill that didn’t belong to the weather, a knowing that something was about to happen before it even happened. As a child I called them “little shadows,” but later—when I finally had the language—realized they were the first signs that my path would be woven through the unseen and that I could peek beyond the veil.
I didn’t know then that those shadows were not threats but teachers. They whispered that every stumble, every bruise, every moment of feeling alone was a lesson waiting to be opened. It was a language of feeling, not of words, and I learned to listen.
I was always the one who handed out pieces of myself—an ear, a shoulder, a smile that never quite reached my own heart. Others took, taking without ever offering a return. I stood at the edge of a one-way street, watching the traffic of my generosity flow away, never circling back. The more I gave, the emptier I felt, as if I were pouring water into a cracked bucket.
It wasn’t until I stumbled into relationships that mirrored that same one-way flow—abusive, dangerous, draining—that I finally asked: Why do I keep trusting a gut that screams “no” and then ignore it? The answer was simple: I had never learned to trust myself.
When my intuition shouted, “Stop,” I answered with a sigh and a smile, hoping the storm would pass. It didn’t. The storm became the teacher. Each bruise, each night spent in fear under the weight of a partner’s anger, was a brutal reminder that my gut was a lighthouse, not a candle. I had to learn to treat it as the compass it was, and the world, as it always does, began to shift.
Trust—first in my own inner voice, then in the unseen guides that had been tugging at my sleeve since childhood—became the foundation upon which I built new boundaries. I learned to say “no” not as a reflexive rebellion but as a declaration of self-respect. I discovered that boundaries are not walls; they are the edges of a garden that protect the seedlings you are finally allowed to nurture—yourself.
I have few friends now, but that is no longer a loss. I have come to understand that the people who truly belong in my life are the ones who recognize my rhythm, not those who try to force me into theirs. I have stopped trying to fit into a shape that was never meant for me, and instead, I have embraced the shape I am—asymmetrical, jagged, and like that luminous firefly.
Acceptance arrived not as this big revelation but as a quiet morning when I looked at my reflection—a ginger head, a slight frame, a scar that ran down the left side of my cheek—and finally whispered, “No mas. You are enough.” The judgment that once hung over my shoulders dissolved, replaced by an appreciation for the very quirks that once made me a target.
All those pieces—pain, isolation, mistrust, survival—have been the raw material, allowing me to rise from the ashes like a phoenix reborn. When someone walks into my space today, they are not meeting a polished therapist or a charismatic guru; they are meeting a channel, a conduit for the very energies that once whispered to a frightened child.
Clients tell me I am an inspiration. They speak of moments when the fog lifted, when a message slipped through the static and landed exactly where it was needed. They describe life-changing shifts: a broken pattern finally dissolved, a decision finally made, a fear finally released. I smile, not because I am the source of those miracles, but because I have learned to be a vessel for something greater than myself. The love that pours through me is unconditional; the guidance is always aimed at the highest good of the soul that seeks it.
I am still a work in progress. There are days when the old shadows creep back, when the memory of schoolyard taunts flares like a distant fire. There are moments when the world feels too large, too noisy, too demanding of the boundaries I have fought so hard to put into place. Yet each of those moments is an invitation to practice what I have learned: to stand tall, to trust my gut, to honour the spirit that has been with me since I first sensed a presence in the corner of my eye.
I did not set out to become a self-employed, internationally-connected healer. I never imagined that the little girl who walked like a penguin would one day guide strangers across continents with messages from the beyond the veil.
Now, when I look back, I see not a series of a Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, but a beautiful tapestry of both dark and light intertwined colours woven with purpose. Each thread—pain, love, loss, triumph—adds depth to the picture that is my life. And as I continue to walk, sometimes wobbling, sometimes soaring, I carry with me a simple truth that the universe whispered to me long ago: Everything in life teaches us something important.
So, I keep walking, knowing they are now my teachers; keeping my heart open to those who need a guiding hand; and keeping my spirit anchored in the belief that, no matter how deep the tunnel, there is always a light waiting at the end. And when I help someone find that light, I am reminded—once again—that my own journey, as tangled and painful as it has been, is exactly what makes me capable of showing others that things can, and always will, get better.

When I was on the brink of divorce, the world felt like a dim, disconnected room—my energy drained, my confidence shattered, and my future seemed like an unsettling blur. I had heard about Reiki, but I dismissed it as another “new-age” fad until desperation forced me to try anything that might restore a spark of dulled spirit. The moment I lay under the practitioner’s hands, a profound shift rippled through my body. It was as if a massive internal switch had been flicked on; vivid colours erupted behind my eyes, images danced in the periphery of my vision, and an electrifying current surged through every cell. A dense block that had been holding me back dissolved in an instant, leaving me breathless and hungry for more.
Compelled by that first taste of inner illumination, I dove into research and soon found a seasoned Reiki master in the UK. A week later I was on her doorstep, receiving my initial attunement. That ceremony marked the beginning of my active participation in the realm of spirit. Over the next six months I absorbed the language of energy—learning to feel, channel, and balance it for myself and for the loved ones who trusted me. My curiosity guided me to the local spiritualist church, where I sat in awe of the mediums as they received messages from the other side. Their clarity inspired me, and I began to see my own emerging gift as a bridge between worlds.
With my second attunement complete, I was authorized to work with the outside world. I transformed a corner of my lounge into a healing space, and for several years I practiced Reiki daily, receiving an ever-increasing stream of guidance from spirit. Clients left my sessions astonished, often remarking that the insights I delivered felt less like “talk” and more like direct communication from their crossed over loved ones—exactly what the church mediums did. To deepen my understanding, I enrolled in several psychic-mediumship development classes near Essex. There I met fellow seekers and discovered that I could pick up on subtle energetic signatures. I began to trust the messages that flowed through me.
This newfound confidence nudged me toward public readings, albeit cautiously, as it scared me. I started with angel-card sessions delivered via email and text, allowing me to practice without the pressure of face-to-face contact. After a year of consistent feedback and growing self-assurance, I moved to in-person sessions, eventually handling up to ten back-to-back readings at weekend private events, mind-body-spirit expos, and intimate gatherings. Around the same time, my passion for teaching blossomed: after completing a Master’s in holistic health, I designed my own Reiki certification course, which quickly became a staple for aspiring healers in the region.
Life took another graceful turn when I met my “forever person,” a fellow psychic medium, trance healer, and spiritual teacher. One evening he handed me a set of tarot cards, explaining that true accuracy lies not in the deck but in the interpreter’s intent and intuition. I threw myself into self-study, allowing the cards to become extensions of my guides. Within a year I was delivering tarot readings, that resonated with many people, and I felt compelled to codify my learning into a comprehensive tarot-training program that empowers others to become professional readers.
Crystals, which had always fascinated me, soon joined my toolkit. I created a one-day crystal-healing workshop and now weave mineral work into my Reiki sessions, offering stones to clients who need an extra boost of support. Each new skill—whether Reiki, mediumship, tarot, or crystal work—has amplified my ability to meet people where they are, adapt to their unique energetic patterns, and facilitate the breakthroughs their souls crave.
Healing, in all its forms, is fundamentally an act of the heart: releasing what no longer serves us, inviting change, and sharing the love that flows from our own restored wholeness. The more I learn, the more I can give, and every day I witness the ripple effect of that single, light switch I first felt—a reminder that even in our darkest moments, the universe is waiting to illuminate a new path.

Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is a Japanese term that translates to “universal life energy.” It’s a gentle, hands-on healing system that was founded in the early-20th century by Mikao Usui, whose own research, personal experience, and deep dedication shaped the practice we know today. At its core, Reiki rests on the simple yet profound observation that all living things are sustained by an invisible current of energy. When this current flows freely, the body, mind, and spirit are in balance; when it becomes blocked or fragmented, stress, illness, and emotional turbulence can arise.
A Reiki session is a non-invasive process that anyone can experience during ordinary life. Practitioners act as conduits, lightly placing their hands on or just above the client’s body to allow the universal energy to move where it is needed most. Because Reiki works on subtle energetic levels, it can be combined safely with conventional medicine, physiotherapy, or other complementary approaches, often offering emotional support that eases the recovery journey. Research and anecdotal evidence consistently point to a reduction in anxiety and depressive tendencies, improved concentration, deeper relaxation, more restorative sleep, heightened self-esteem, and an overall sense of calm and balance.
Children, with their remarkably clear energetic channels and short attention spans, experience Reiki in a slightly different way. Sessions are typically brief, playful, and highly responsive to the child’s natural rhythm. Young ones are extraordinarily perceptive; they sense shifts in the atmosphere and can mirror the emotions of adults around them. When a parent or caregiver is worried, the child often feels that tension; when the environment is calm, the child relaxes. A Reiki “room”—a space infused with loving, positive energy—can instantly soothe a child, encouraging them to explore a feeling of peace that they may otherwise find elusive. The treatment can help calm nervousness, promote better sleep, and provide a gentle outlet for the mixed emotions children sometimes carry.
In practice, giving Reiki to a child feels distinct from working with an adult. A healthy child’s energy field is closely attuned to the physical body, allowing the practitioner to sense a sweeping flow of energy that quickly restores harmony. Even children who are ill or who struggle with mental-emotional imbalances report feeling more comfortable, relaxed, and supported after a session. Their innate sensitivity to the surrounding energy makes Reiki an especially effective tool for fostering resilience, encouraging emotional expression, and nurturing a lifelong sense of well-being.
In a world where the flow of universal life energy underpins every heartbeat, Reiki offers a simple, gentle pathway to keep that flow unblocked—benefiting adults and children alike, and reminding us that healing is ultimately an energetic, shared experience.
You offer Reiki courses. Take us through the benefits.
Imagine a gentle, unseen current flowing through your hands, restoring balance, awakening your inner wisdom, and guiding you back to a state of wholeness. This is the heart of Reiki—a sacred practice that honours the interconnectedness of body, mind, heart, and spirit. When you step into one of my Reiki courses, you’re not just learning a technique; you’re standing on the threshold of something beautifully empowering and embarking on a transformative journey that nurtures every dimension of your being.
Reiki’s ability to dissolve stress and invite deep relaxation activates the body’s innate healing intelligence, creating the perfect internal environment for renewal. As stress melts away, sleep becomes more restful, anxiety softens, and joy begins to re-emerge. Many of my students share how Reiki helped them release long-held emotional blocks, sharpen their clarity, and reclaim a sense of purpose. “Energy flows where attention goes,” as the saying goes—and in Reiki, we learn to direct that flow with compassion and intention. Whether you seek relief from physical discomfort, emotional balance, or spiritual alignment, Reiki empowers you to heal from within and live more fully. This is not just healing—it’s a return to your truest self.
When you step into a Reiki attunement session, everything unfolds.
By integrating these practices, you reconnect with the deepest version of yourself and keep the Reiki light shining bright, for you and for anyone you choose to share it with.
What has been your greatest joy in life?
Beyond the laughter of my children, the most profound joy that fills my heart is witnessing souls emerge from the shadows of their own despair into the radiance of hope. There is a quiet, almost sacred beauty in seeing someone pause, listen to a message, and allow that guidance to take root—like a seed breaking through winter soil. When a weary spirit finally feels the gentle tug of healing, an inner light kindles, and they find the courage to reach outward, asking for help, offering gratitude, and sharing their newfound faith with others.
Each transformation becomes a living testament to resilience: a once-lost heart learns to trust again, a tangled path untangles, and a life once dominated by fear is reclaimed by purpose. I am humbled to stand at the crossroads of these journeys, offering a steady hand, a compassionate ear, and encouragement that reminds people they are never truly alone.
The ripple effect is simply beautiful. One person’s awakening sparks another’s curiosity, and before long a community of healed hearts begins to blossom, with each person carrying forward the same light that once saved them. Knowing that I have played—even in a modest way—in these cycles of renewal fills me with a sense of deep gratitude. It is a reminder that, while my children are my inspiration and my joy, for I love them both to bits, the collective ascent of humanity is the chorus that sings through my very being, urging me to keep sharing a ray of hope, help, and a restored faith with every soul willing to step into the light.

I have had many readings from Leone and she has guided me through some of the worst moments of my life. The accuracy of guidance has been spot on and I will be forever grateful
