Meet Sienna, a Jewelry Designer and Dwarfism Awareness Advocate

Despite having an identical twin, Sienna is the only person in the world like her. And she has two Guinness Book records to prove it. She’s also the reigning Miss Texas Royalty Ultimate Queen.

Weighing just 1 lb, 7 oz at birth, doctors originally gave her little hope of thriving after being given diagnoses of Primordial Dwarfism, Dandy-Walker, Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum, a hole in her heart, and being hard of hearing. Yet, Sienna continues to push past limitations.

At 26 years old, she designs and crafts her own jewelry and sells hundreds of pieces a year online and at markets. She’s a Dwarfism awareness advocate and has been on TV worldwide, showing people that with God, all things are possible. She’s one of the most emotionally intelligent people you’ll ever meet and has a witty sense of humor. And anyone who knows Sienna knows she’s really a mermaid.

Hi Sienna, please tell us your passions in life.

I love mermaids and playing my favorite games. And I like to listen to music and watch social media. I enjoy joy doing jewelry making, and I do some journaling, too.

When did you discover your love for making jewelry?

It was about 4 years ago when I discovered jewelry making. I was doing the beadwork as dexterity therapy. My mom noticed I was putting together nice patterns and was good at designing jewelry. And because I was struggling to find a job, my mom suggested I start my own business selling my jewelry.

How does it feel to be your own boss?

I like being my own boss because it helps me earn money. It’s nice to know I’m in control of my future. While I’m still working on my confidence, having my own business makes me proud.

I try to live with passion, purpose, and positivity, and I always say to think big. I might be small, but that doesn’t mean I have to dream small.

You recently showcased your jewelry at Porsche River Oaks. How much fun was it?

It was very fun. It was nice getting to be around fancy cars, cool art, and nice people. I got to wear my crown and my Miss Texas Royalty Ultimate Queen ’24 sash.

I loved looking at the nice cars, and I got to take some pictures in a green Porsche. Green is the color of Dwarfism Awareness, so it was very appropriate. It was also great getting to see some cool art and talk to the artists.

Your jewelry is gaining notoriety. What are your goals for your business?

My goal is to get my jewelry in some cute boutiques and to eventually be able to hire other special needs adults. I want other adults who are like me to feel like they have a sense of purpose, too.

Tell us about your work as an advocate for dwarfism and what you want people to know.

Since I was 10, I’ve been going on TV and sharing my story and telling people about what it’s like to have Dwarfism. I also go to little people events as well as speak on panels about Dwarfism awareness. I’m also able to educate people about Dwarfism when I sell my jewelry at markets. People usually think I’m a kid at first because they didn’t even know my type of Dwarfism exists.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

Most people are surprised when they learn I have an identical twin sister who is not a little person. People are also surprised when they learn I’m 26 years old. My form of dwarfism makes me look like a kid.

You love mermaids. Why are they so dear to your heart?

I have always loved mermaids because they are pretty and cheerful. I like how they show the good things in the world. I enjoy being a mermaid myself. I would love to be a professional mermaid someday, so I incorporate mermaids in my jewelry business however I can.
